Mini @PINKS Englishtown NJ 2008 takes on Dart @Raceway Park Englishtown NJ. This was when PINKS was actually a thing that people enjoyed back in the day.
I do not know that much about this MINI but, almost remember hearing that it may have been Honda powered?
I do know that it broke a front axle and was told that the owner would not upgrade to stronger ones.
The excuse I heard was that the stock axles are cheap and that he just had a bunch of extra ones for when they ultimately broke one. Not exactly a good way of going about things as far as I am concerned 🙁
Yes, know axles are most likely going to be over a grand or so for this car. However, even though the stockers are cheap. They do break as I saw that day. So sure you can just swap one in almost no problem but, what if you are actually racing someone? PINKS was a goof kind of race. So you are not racing someone as much as you are racing the clock. Sure the driver can make another run that day to back up his time in qualifying but, if your really racing then you will have lost the race due to the broken axle.
After this PINKS race, I never saw this car again, however? So who knows what the deal is now? Anyone know anything else about this MINI Cooper?
It has been years since I took this video so who knows if this car even still exists? Or is it a promotional tool for someone’s business. Never got to speak with the owner that day cause there was just to many people there that day and walking around the pits would have kept me from getting video of the races.

Located in Central NJ I wind up at lots of Car Events. Be it at Englishtown, Island or Atco Dragstrips or Somerville Main Street on Friday nights. If it involves High Performance cars I am most likely at the event!
