GTO vs WRX with Junior Tune

So as you can imagine in this GTO vs WRX with Junior Tune video the GTO driver probably was pretty pissed when a WRX drove around him in the Quarter mile.

He did argue about it when I first posted it but it doesn’t change what happened as the stock engine WRX ate him up and that was with a cast piston engine too!

OK let me set this straight on the stock engine statement. The WRX does have an aftermarket turbo and intercooler. I do believe it still had the stock ECU at the time that had been tuned by none other than Junior. If you know anything about the import or Subaru tuner industry you would know the name as he is the master tuner 🙂

Now onto this car with a STOCK engine. The stock designation is that this engine was taken out of another Subaru with it’s stock cast pistons in the engine. It had never been taken apart or modified from when it was manufactured by Subaru. Not even a valve cover had been taken off of the engine.

However the GTO no longer had a Pontiac engine. No it had a Big Block Chevy in it now and if I remember correctly the owner did claim he was running pump gas 🙄 Or at least that is what he claimed when he was upset that I caught his GTO getting beaten by a lowly Subaru WRX with a stock long block. All in all it was cool to know a high milage Subaru engine can beat a Big Block swapped GTO in the quarter mile. Mind you this engine in the WRX was sold to someone else and is still running fine doing street duty in another WRX somewhere out there on the streets…so watch out cause the next car passing you could just have this engine 👿
