Flash flood from Hurricane Irene
Pulled into IHOP and see a car that was left from the night before I was told.
Kitchen wasn’t open yet so I came back in 45 minutes and the car was a foot deeper. Then as I’m eating I am watching 202 disappear before my eyes! As I see the Rescue Squad start to get barriers out in anticipation to block the highway I figured I better get out and cross the bridge before it’s shut down!
So I wind up driving a Mark VIII through some fairly deep water. Kind of made me wonder if it had been a bit deeper would my car have sucked up some water and hydraulic my engine. Well it was either that or spend the night at the IHOP and that wasn’t in the cards 🙁
