I always wondered what a big radial engine like this could do in a Tractor Pull and now I know!

I can only wonder or imagine how much Torque this engine must have, it has to be incredible! Not only that it’s not that loud which is kinda incredible! Have to wonder where they got an engine like this from in the first place?

Yes there is a larger converted Radial out there but, that one was a Diesel from Russia and they converted it to Alky so not quite the same as this one. This is a Bomber engine that has been repurposed so to speak for Pulling. This has got to be a design that absolutely no engineer ever thought the engine that they were designing would ever be used for 😕

I mean really when they are sitting at the desk proposing different scenarios of what the engine may possibly be forced to deal with I know this was not one of them 🙄 However when the engine blows up or stops running it’s not like an aircraft is going to crash at this point?

No pilot is going down behind enemy lines because of parts failure do to some dirt being ingested from the tires throwing dirt forward or anything like that!

Matter of fact where did they manage to get the engine for this tractor in the first place? They are not dime a dozen engines and parts cannot be that easy to come by not to mention the entire engine in the first place. Then what are the chances of who ever had the engine or access to it being a Tractor Pulling fan or knowing someone with the ability of building a frame to house this beast of en engine 😛
