Borescope view of flathead Ford ports
So this Borescope view of flathead Ford ports that you most likely have never seen before is cause I was lucky enough to have the camera with me. Yeah neat old stuff ๐ฏ
This is a short scope with a Borescope of a very old Flathead Ford racing block from over a half century ago! This block was found in the cellar of a deceased man’s basement. He was a long haul trucker from what I have been told but more seemed to be a Hoarder with all the things he had on his property.
Many 1959 Triumphs, an airplane and a bunch of heavy equipment parts in his garage and house. Then this engine block was found along with a aluminum flywheel/clutch assembly in his basement.
Quite interesting and you wish you knew the history that this Flathead could tell ๐
He also had an airplane of some sorts in his hoard that was either a kit or being rebuilt? There was still a brand new engine for the airplane sitting there but, the family seemed to want a lot of money for it for some reason?
Don’t really think it is usable along with the propeller that was sitting with it since who knows when? Wish I could have gone there to get some video of the airplane and engine or any of the other parts lying around there. Who knows if any of the parts actually had any value or not because as I said this guy hoarded anything and everything!
Here are a few of the Triumphs in his yard-
Low Mile Triumph
Triumph that was driven at one point
So as I said he had quite the collection of stuff in and around his barn for many many years. As I said I wish I could have been there for the find ๐

That was very “cool”. It has been many years since I have seen a flathead.
Had a couple Dodge/De Soto flat sixes and at least two flat ford eights.
Glad you took the time to bore-scope this relic of better years.
I had a 1939 Plymouth Sedan back in 1989 that I actually daily drove for a bit. Only Flathead I had experience with but didn’t have decent cameras to document it. Unlike now and an old racing Ford Flatty yo play with ๐
