Located in Central NJ I wind up at lots of Car Events. Be it at Englishtown, Island or Atco Dragstrips or Somerville Main Street on Friday nights. If it involves High Performance cars I am most likely at the event!
I don’t think that bug has a4cyl motor in it..you can tell by the way it sounds.It has a v8 in it..A person can make a air cooled 4 cyl bug run like hell.I know I use to turn wrenches on some VW drag cars..Quickest one I worked on run 6 seconds flat in the 1/8 mile..And they were some there faster.But that one has a V8 swap done to it,NO dought about it.
Gotta admit your right. Been 5 years since I was at that race and there were quite a few flat 4 air cooled VW racing that day. That and the V8 swaps are at a lot of car shows I have been hitting so my bad.
