Diesel Outside Cadillac Inside!

So I got lucky (?) enough to get a ride in what I thought was going to be a noisy nasty 80’s relic. Not so it would seem? This Oldsmobile Diesel powered Cadillac Coupe De Ville was from out in PA somewhere and used to belong to a Church affiliate of some sort? Anyway you can hear from the video how loud the diesel engine is, although it did quiet down a bit after it warmed up a lil. So this Cadillac only has 3x,xxx miles on it as it was never driven, so the interior is as nice as the exterior. Climate control works like new and it is dead quiet as well as drive on a cloud smooth on the inside!

Gotta say if I have the money I wouldn’t mind picking this up to use as a commuter car as the MPG this gets should be well worth it! Then again since it has no mile on it that could be for a reason? How slow at picking up speed could this thing be? I have to commute on Rt78 and that needs a bit of Horsepower at least to pass people going over Jugtown Mountain. That is quite a suck drive if you have something that doesn’t have enough power.

I was last doing it with a 4.3 V6 C1500 Chevy truck and that wasn’t all that bad. However when you go to pass uphill it just doesn’t happen. The amazing thing is the truck is not that slow either plus it got excellent gas mileage to boot. It just comes down to the fact that when a Prius passes you and you can’t keep it from doing that. Yeah I am one of those people that doesn’t like those Hybrid junks :evil>
