2017 800HP Yenko Chevrolet Corvette
Yeah you read it right
Yup rumor has it that a 2017 800HP Yenko Chevrolet Corvette will be unveiled ahead of the Scottsdale Barret-Jackson auction coming up.
Limited details are available as of yet seeing as this was a complete surprise to most people.
Details so far go as this, It is being built by a Toms River New Jersey-based “SVE” Specialty Vehicle Engineering co. They will be using the well known “Yenko” name but, under license of course.
They will be starting with a Grand Sport Corvette in the beginning. Then SVE will make the engine larger by taking the displacement from the factory 6.2 out to 6.8 liters (416 Cubes).
Many engine internals will be replaced such as a forged crankshaft, forged pistons and CNC ported cylinder heads.
Seeing how a street driven NA engine will not be able to make 800 Horse Power reliably, this engine will get a 2.9-liter twin screw supercharger. The fuel system used will be off of the LT-4 from the Z06. It will be making 800 Horse Power and 750 ft-lb of torque.
Believe it or not, you will be able to get either the 7-speed manual transmission or the eight-speed automatic!
Now for the other details, the car is going to be the base Grand Sport with Yenko tags and stripes on the vehicle. Yenko on the calipers and interior but, no change in the car otherwise.
The car will be unveiled by SVE at the Barret-Jackson Scottsdale sale for everyone to see. The package price will be $46,000 on top of the Grand Sport in the first place. Only 50 of these cars are being built however here is the good part. You will be able to get it in Convertible form!
The bad part but, not to me is that the car is not going to be available for sale to California residents as it will not pass CARB standards in Cali.
