What color to Powder Coat my Mark VIII rims next
Car is White to give you a base
So What color to Powder Coat my Mark VIII rims next is my main question for now? Did them in Black Chrome before and they looked pretty good at the time.
As I said they looked pretty good until the Powder that was used to make that interesting Chrome look started to crack 🙁
Then along with the cracking they started to haze up and feel like they had been blasted with fine sand or something?
Luckily seeing as the powder sucked the Powder Coater is doing my next set under a warranty so to speak. Anyway he has a lot of new colors and shades now that it has been over a year or so since the last coating.
There is a Black Coating with a chrome like fleck to it. I don’t want to say Glitter but, when you are up close to it then it looks pretty awesome.
There are also some new finishes that are like Gun Metal in the textures. That could be good or just look Dirty unless you know what you are looking at?
There are also semi clear coatings too. That can make a rims color look like a Christmas ornament like a Christmas Bulb sort of?
Would not really want to do something like this color except that I already have a set of Coil On Plug MOD Valve Covers down in this color. More of something that would look cool with the hood up at a car show to show off matching wheels and valve covers.
Otherwise that color would be a bit ricer for a Lincoln to have.
The Gunmetal Grey kind of looks like what I had already?
This is the color that my Valve Covers are done in. I got the idea from a set of motor cycle rims I saw at the shop getting coated.
So what color to do next?
