Turbo Mark VIII vs Lightning
Turbo Mark VIII vs Lightning
Yes this is a combo that is not often seen as the Lincoln Mark VIII does not leave much room for a Turbo to be installed much less any piping to support the Turbo 🙁
I know of one person installing Twin Turbo’s on a Lincoln Mark VIII presently but he has gone as far as to modify the chassis, K frame and even putting a Fuel Cell in it at present. It should be an interesting project when it is done as it also has a Coyote Engine swapped into it before the Turbo project was started. It will be interesting to see how the IRS rear suspension with handle the amount of Horsepower this setup will be putting out 😕
Anyway there was not much information available on the 1993 Mark VIII with the Turbo setup in these videos. A short Chassis Dyno run but, no Dyno Chart to see the actual 519 Horsepower curve that was made 🙁 I have had 3 Mark VIII’s so far and love the car, just hate how hard it is to do any modifications to them 😛
Updating this post at this point thinking of other was to make a Mark VIII go faster. Yes there is the Coyote swap route but, that is putting an iron block in the car making it heavier in that sense. There is always building the original 4.6 MOD engine as that block can handle plenty of power. I built enough of them for a tuner shop and know this for a fact even though they are a bit of a pain to put together.
Lastly and this is the one that will piss off the Ford Purists. Put a GM LS series engine into the car with some boost 🙄 These engines can make an easy 800hp with just a cam and valve spring mod. If you play around much further you can go well over 1000HP with it 👿
