Walking into 18th Spring Nationals Raceway Park NJ
Interesting as Walking into 18th Spring Nationals Raceway Park NJ felt almost like I was walking into the Sport Compact day or even the dreaded Honda day ๐ฏ
Yes as I was walking in almost the first things I see to my left are a bunch of Turbo Honda’s ๐ Before you say anything I do own a JDM WRX STi so don’t paint me as a hater of imports. It’s just I have been going to Englishtown for decades and am much more used to a bunch of V8 engines loping around in the pits instead of 4 bangers bouncing off of launch controls ๐
At least as I come around the fence I see a ’70 GTO driving to the staging lanes.
Then a 4 door Impala drives by looking a bit worse for wear so to speak ๐ What some people will bracket race is beyond me at times.
Next I walk down to check out the Show to see if I know anybody there as I usually do. I see no cars that I recognize and nothing that really floats my boat so to speak. I did see a Honda sporting a Stance look and then another after it. Not exactly the kind of Honda I would expect to see like that either ๐
Then I got to see the first cars racing at least to me when I got to the stands.
Of course the first 2 cars racing are Mustangs, not exactly my favorite cars as I am GM them Mopar when I choose my doestics. Then the next car down the strip is a Cadillac CTS most likely a V series? Then a by run and a few more not to exciting to me runs. However it is people getting test runs so I wouldn’t expect much else at this point of the day ๐

HEY R U RUNNING A AFTER OILER ON YER SUBARU? ALL MECHANICAL AFTER OILER …..YOU GET A CYCLINDER LIKE A OLD PROPANE BOTTLE THE ONE YOU BUY AT WALLMART , YOU PLUMB YOUR OIL LINE INTO THE BOTTLE WITH A CHECK VALVE THAT ONLY LETS OIL INTO THE BOTTLE , THEN PLUMB A LINE OUT OF THE BOTTLE TO THE TURBO , AS YOU DRIVE THE OIL PRESSURE FILLS UP THE BOTTLE THUS BUILDING UP PRESSURE IN THE BOTTLE AS IT FILLS UP WITH OIL,(NON VENTED BOTTLE)SO WHEN YOU SHUT OFF YER ENGINE ,THE PRESSURE IN THE BOTTLE FROM COMPRESSION OF OIL FILING IT UP PUSHES THE OIL TO THE TURBO SO THERE IS NO DANGER OF STARVING THE TURBO OF OIL IF YOU HAVE TO SHUT IT DOWN FOR ANY REASON, LIKE MY PETCOCK FELL OFF ON MU TURBO Z1 KAWASAKI THROUGH THE TRAPS ,THE LITTLE PRESSED IN NIPPLE FELL OUT OF THE PETCOCK , SHUT DOWN ENGINE I PULLED IN THE CLUTCH TO PRVENT A FIRE ,EXCEPT BEARING FAILED IN TURBO,SMK CITY
I thought about doing something like that way back when I first got the car. At least to cool down the turbo so I wouldn’t have to idle it to supply oil to the turbo kinda deal. Never got around to it and after 50k miles never had a problem with my FP Green ball bearing turbo. Clutches where an entire different story however.
