Jet Bike on it’s Second Run

OK OK I almost know what your thinking now. From the picture how could it be Jet Powered when the Exhaust is shooting out the side? Well I was thinking the same thing and besides the “Jet Bike” title I had to see for myself too!

An acquaintance of mine had a similar idea but even more off track than this one. This is using a LARGE GARRET TURBO as a Turbine more than ads a Jet as it is not using Jet propulsion. Instead it is using it as a turbine to have it’s spinning shaft power to be transmitted to the chain drive. Much like the Turbine powered bike the Jay Leno has uses.

Now the acquaintance that I spoke of wanted to use the big Turbo as a Jet but tap off of the high pressure to supercharge a normal combustion Motorcycle Engine. That way no parasitic power was taken away from the engine to power the supercharger or have the problem of trying to build boost with a Turbo driven off the exhaust. Either way I think I’ll stick with a piston powered Motorcycle…
