1960 Olds Chop Top Burnout
0
This was a car that I knew of, or new the person that owned it.
This 1960 Olds Chop Top Burnout car was sold to a friend of mine who chopped the top on it and completely changed its look and direction in life. Well, at least from its original owner that is.
This was probably the cars glory day at the Pre Lead East show burning the tires till one popped! It was kind of amazing that he drove this thing all the way up to Boonton for the show and had a spare tire to replace the one that he blew out seeing as he didn’t have much in the way of funds.
Unfortunately the last owner of this car had a bit of a drinking problem and even though he could do some very incredible work, he couldn’t keep a job. He then had to sell this car off to pay bills and that was a car he had said he would never sell ๐
After that he seemed to have drank himself till there was no coming back, RIP Barry ๐ Before he had built some very interesting cars to some rather mundane ones too. I wish I had some pictures of his chop top Baby Lincoln. It looked like a Mercury for the most part. He had done an extreme chop top to it and the installed what I think was a Nova subframe welded to the cut off the front of the Lincolns original frame.

He then bought a ’79 or ’80 Malibu to throw a Small Block in it to make a Drag Car out of. Not to sure how fast he ever got it to go as it was back in the early 90’s or so? I just remember him doing a lot of Key Drops with it way back in the day and really wish I had a video camera to catch some of the stuff that went down back in the day.

My developer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a variety of websites for about a year and am worried about switching to another platform. I have heard great things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
