Not a fan of 4 door Sedans or most Fords for the most part but, this 1961 Ford Galaxie 390 3 on the tree with a Hot Cam is pretty damn cool ๐Ÿ™‚

So a car like this brings back quite a few memories for me for quite a few reasons. As I have said in past posts I am not a Ford fan and that is partly do to the 390 that is powering this Galaxie. One of my first Fords that I owned was a 1969 F100 that had a Mercury 390 swapped into it. Seeing that it had a 390 form a different vehicle transplanted into the truck made it a nightmare to get correct parts as 390 get a bit car/year specific ๐Ÿ™

However I must admit that it was one of my favorite Ford engines as I just couldn’t seem to blow the thing up! Used to drive it foot to the floor winding that engine out and it never gave me a problem believe it or not. Not to mention the truck was a granny gear 3 speed but, that was part of the reason I learned to hate Fords. Trying to find a clutch to go onto a Merc 390 in a Truck with a big granny gear trans was quite fun.

So that brings us to this 3 on the tree Galaxie with a hot 390. Once again I had a few 3 on the tree cars too but, they were all straight sixes having no power at all. Never a Big Block in front of it possibly making it a bit more fun.

I was never able to chirp a gear on an upshift like he does with this Police Interceptor cammed 390. So I have to look at it as a big 4 door sedan that no one would think anything about being able to chirp the tires going 1st to 2nd gear ๐Ÿ˜› That and looking at that old dash would be pretty cool doing it at the same time.

So for some reason I cannot believe that I would add this as a car on my list that I would possibly want ๐Ÿ˜• Seriously a 4 door 3 on the tree Ford Sedan is now on my cars to have list….who woulda thunk it ๐Ÿ˜›
