15th Anniversary Hurst Olds for sale

While driving home one day I happened to see a 15th Anniversary Hurst Olds for sale on the side of the road by an Autozone car parts store.

Now I am not the biggest Oldsmobile fan but, I have nothing really against them either. However I am a G-body fan to the extreme 🙂

Yeah what ever it my sound weird or something however you cannot get any GM Muscle car cheap these days. I’m not only talking about Camaro’s, Firebirds or Impala’s as Muscle Cars. No I am talking about Chevelle’s, Lemans and a Cutlass if you can find one anyplace. Even if they are a measly 307 or even a straight six engine you are going to pay through the nose for it 😯

Now as of late the next car to be picked up as a cheap replacement for these out of the world priced classic Muscle Cars is a G-body! We are talking about Malibu’s and the like. Not the Monte Carlo that was so popular for quite a while as they are a bit over weight for the purpose at hand. Although if given a nice Monte Carlo I would take it in a second but, more as a driver than anything.

Anyway I am getting off topic here as I am thinking of Drag Racing specifically so the Malibu being a stripped down body is a favorite. Now when I saw this G-body on the side of the road the first thing that go’s through my mind is swapping in a Big Block or Turbo on a Small Block Chevy to get the thing moving. Then I get a closer look and see that it is a 15th Anniversary Hurst Olds for sale and it changes everything.

I totally forgot about the Hurst Lightning Rod shifter in the center console instead of the Bench Seat a Malibu would have. Sure this car has some cheesy aftermarket rims on it right now instead of the Rally style of rim that it should have but, that is not to hard a thing to fix. Engine wise I’m not sure what is under the hood 😕 It’s most likely an Olds 307 and that ain’t good 🙁

Talk about a worthless engine for power but, if you want to keep it numbers matching you do not have a choice except to keep it. So if I had the money laying around I would pick this car up as I like the way G-body GM cars drive. It’s well under 100k on the odometer so I could dive it without worrying about putting miles on it but, it is a bit worn looking paint wise. So is $4200 a bit much or the right price on a 15th Anniversary Olds like this 😕
